The Air Quality Committee of Environmental Protection UK (EPUK) has called for important changes to strengthen the air quality provisions of the proposed Environment Bill.
The changes demanded include a stronger, more independent Office for Environmental Protection, clearer legal provisions and enforcement, a commitment to meet World Health Organisation standards, and a new emphasis on public health.

As with all environmental laws, political changes are creating significant uncertainty about when and how the UK government will take forward its environmental agenda – and whether that agenda remains the same.
